In my last blog, I included a video about our Real Life teams who are on the field for 3 months in Kenya, Swaziland, and India. I mentioned there that I would soon share about my connection with these teams. Perhaps you’re putting this equation together….
Real Life teams on the field + Kayla in Georgia = ??? How does this fit together? Well, let me share with you a bit regarding my involvement with these teams.
I am in charge of field support for these Real Life teams. Basically, I keep in close contact with their leaders and track what God is doing in and through these teams while they’re on the field.
Once a week I call each of the Real Life leaders…there are 8 on the field currently. During these calls, I ask how the team is doing, how they’re growing, what are the celebrations and challenges, and how can we pray for them.
Another huge part of field support is caring for our leaders. These leaders make my hero list. They pour themselves out physically, emotionally, and spiritually to their team for 3 months straight. They are truly on the front lines with what’s happening in the Kingdom. They are the ones that are raising up this generation of young people to seek God’s face, to know Him and to be known by Him, to make a difference in the Kingdom. So each week I take time to just check in with the leaders. It’s always encouraging to hear how they’re personally growing in the Lord. Sometimes they have tough weeks and they share the struggles with me. Other weeks, they are filled with excitement and can’t say enough about what God’s doing in their lives. The leaders are being shaped into God’s likeness more every day and it’s a joy to walk this journey with them. I get to pray with them, offer feedback and advice, speak truth over them, encourage them, & celebrate with them all that God is doing.
Each time I hang up the phone with one of these leaders this thought fills my mind, “I love my job! I mean, really, I absolutely love what I do!!” It is extremely fulfilling for me and I am experiencing the gifts God has given me taking shape and being used.
Throughout the week I also have opportunities to pray for these leaders and their teams. I spend time reading all of their blogs and celebrating what an incredible God we serve! In the following weeks I’ll post a few of these blogs here for you to read. You’ll be encouraged to hear what’s happening in the nations!
and I love that you love your job! and I love working with you, Kayla!
