Kenya is still waking up to the nightmare of what has happened in this country over the past week.  250,000 people are refugees now, their homes burned or otherwise destroyed with everything they owned inside.  “Humanitarian Crisis” is the phrase that has defined the once stable East Africa country.  The basic necessities of life: food, water, shelter, healthcare…they are now even more out of reach from hundreds of thousands of Kenyans.

The latest word is that the opposition party will again attempt to hold the million man march on Tuesday.  The opposition leaders are calling this a “peaceful protest,” but everyone fears the worst.  The 2 sides have yet to agree to sit down and negotiate and right now that seems almost impossible.  Everyone is taking it one day at a time and doing all they can to just survive one more day.  It’s a desperate situation.

However, we serve a big God!  He is all-knowing and has already been establishing his plan and purpose amidst the chaos in this war-torn land.  Little glimmers of hope come through as we hear stories from our brothers and sisters in Kibera.  As all else is stripped away, they remain strong depending on the Lord for their very breath.  As you continue to pray for Kenya, please specifically pray for the believers there.  They are in an influencial position, amongst a desperate people.  Pray that there will be incredible opportunities to share the love and hope our God offers.  Pray for miracles, dreams, signs and wonders… that unbelievers will see Jesus and put their trust in God who is Mighty to save.
