I’m in Kenya for a few days doing a mid-trip debrief for the
Kenya & Uganda Real Life teams.
They’ve gathered here in Nairobi for a few days of celebrating what God
has been doing these next 2 months and looking forward into these next 2
months. It’s a time for us to
reflect and relax, worship together, encourage each other, even play
together. It’s a time to evaluate
how they’re doing with things like attitudes of their hearts, community living
and preferring others, operating in a culture of honor. There’s some re-setting as we remember
why we do what we do, and the core values of our DNA. There’s great value in being in a community that can remind
you who you are…like who you really
are. They see you at your best and
worst and call you into greatness. It’s messy at times, but ultimately it’s beautiful
For the past 3 days I’ve had the privilege of taking a front
row seat to watch what God’s doing in these students. I find myself often in awe as I sit and listen to their
stories. There’s been some major
transformation in them since I met them 2 months ago at training camp. They’ve matured. They’ve been stretched in what they
believe. Their view of the Kingdom
has expanded. Their love for one
another has a depth to it. Their
dreams are BIG. Their prayers are
BOLD. Their steps are
ordered.
God’s given me a voice into this generation. I’m discovering that there are things flowing out of me that I didn’t
know were in me. These leaders and teams are like sponges and there are
things that God has planted in me and stored up to be poured out at this
exact time.
These 21 Real Life students are being launched into these
next 2 months of ministry fully alive and aflame. There’s an increase in their pace when it comes to Kingdom
principles. There’s a hunger in
their bellies for more of what God has for them. What an honor it’s been to be with these 21 incredible
students and their 4 leaders!
sounds amazing. It’s so encouraging to hear things like this. And see young people with an urgency for sharing the Gospel outside of home, their country and their comfort zone. And I especially love seeing how God is continuing to use you – someone who has had such a big impact on my life. 🙂 love ya!
Awesome friend! Keep utilizing the Voice the Lord has given you. I believe in you and what you’re doing. Those teams will continue to grow and change and give back that hope to the nations.
Yes. You do have a voice. I love the wisdom that comes from you into my own life and I know that the Real Life teams are blessed by it too. All this from a voice that used to sing, “Santo! Santo! Santo!” next to me in church. God is big. Praying for both of you daily.
Love this Kayla! YES YOU DO HAVE A VOICE! So proud of you for using it!
ENJOY! Praying! Love you!
