As I have been speaking with our many friends in Kenya, I’ve been recording specific prayer requests they have.
– Pray for a sense of hope to be restored among all Kenyans
– Pray for the people of Kibera to be able to find food and water to survive
– Pray for righteousness to rule Kenya
– Strength to continue on in the face of death
Eva (our house Mom at the AIM orphanage):
-safety and security as she is from one of the targeted tribes
-ability to flee Kibera safely
-renewed hope and vision as she encourages all those around her
the AIM kids:
-covering of protection over them wherever they currently are. They all went to visit their relatives over the holiday and are scattered all about the country, from far Western Kenya to the East coast.
-Pray for us to be able to get in touch with them to know they are ok.
-blinders over their eyes, so as not to see the brutal violence that envelops them.
Michelle and family:
– pray for Michelle’s physical health as she continues to recover from recent surgery
– pray for wisdom for Joseph as he decides whether or not to go protest
– pray for peace for the kids (Shalom and Victor) as they are so scared
– pray that their home which they were run out of will be secure and not looted
Richard and family:
-Pray that they will be able to contact family they haven’t heard from to know they’re ok
– Pray for safety to stay in their home as Richard is paralyzed and it’s near impossible to get out of Kibera
-Pray for his wife, Jane, to be able to find food for the family
Monica:
– Pray for her peace of mind as her children are held up in western Kenya during the violence
– Pray for her to find food to feed the remaining kids at home, Tracy and Fidel and many other neighbor kids she constantly feeds.
– security at her home at night when the men come through robbing, looting, raping and even killing those of specific tribal identites.
Our pastors, Steve, Timothy, Sheth, Humphrey and their families:
-safety as they are stuck in their homes
-wisdom as people look to them for guidance and answers
-daily provision to survive and endure the hardships
Ramla:
– Safety for her and her 7 children stuck in Kibera
– wisdom for her 5 boys who are among the thousands of young men on the front lines fighting police
– provision as her shop was looted and her entire livelihood was stolen
-food and water for her and her kids
Ronald: (our taxi driver)
-security for him and his car which is his livelihood
-safety for his wife and kids whom he’s sent upcountry to try to flee the violence
-wisdom of where to go/where not to go; what to say/what not to say.
Alex (one of our translators):
– pray for supernatural healing as he was shot by police and is currently in serious condition at the hospital
Government officials:
-Wisdom and peaceful communication with each other
– the UN and various other countries whose Ambassadors are working with Kenya for peace
I am sure there are many many more, but this is what I know for now from those I’ve personally talked to. I’ll keep this updated as I learn more. Thank you for joining us in prayer!
