Things here
in Swaziland
are going well. We’ve made it through week 1 and we’ve got 2 to go.
It’s been full of activities and getting ministries setup for the team.
Thanks for your prayers! God is doing so much here in our midst and it’s
a joy and a privilege to be a part of it. The team is doing really
well. There are 18 students, then 2 leaders and myself. We’re
learning the joys and struggles of community living. 21 people in one
house is a lot of fun!! It’s even more fun seeing how the 14 of us girls
share one bathroom, ha.
We’re fully engaged in various ministries. So far we’ve started building
relationships at a lot of places:
1)
a
pre-school just down the street from our house
2)
an
orphanage for abandoned babies (ages 18 months-6)
3)
a
government hospital, working with abandoned babies in the children’s ward
4)
a
high school – helping with the Scripture Union group (a program for Christian students that meets once a week)
5)
a
homestead (rural area) located behind our house. Getting to know people,
encouraging them, sharing God’s love with them, and praying for them.
Those are some of the
things that we’ve been able to take part in. During the next 2 weeks,
we’ll be spending as much time as we can at these places. We’ve really
been welcomed here and the team is starting to fall in love with the Swazi
people and culture.
much love,
Kayla
Kayla,
You are so awesome! The world is a better place because of you. You constantly are an example of Gods’ love and acting on His mandate of making Disciples. You are just so annointed by the Lord!
Blessings,
Damon
