Moses

I want to introduce you to Moses.  Moses is our new night guard here at the house, with us from 6pm to 6am everyday.  He’s a perfect fit for this job, standing over 6 feet tall and broad shoulders, he’s a massive guy.  He’s got a deep voice, reminding me of the huge guy from the movie “The Green Mile”.  With a stature like this, who wouldn’t fear Moses?  Well, only those of us who have talked with him and gotten to know him as we have.  You see, Moses, although physically strong and fierce looking has a very gentle spirit and a joy that radiates from his face.  A few nights ago, I was awoken at 2am to the sound of Moses’ voice outside my window speaking very loudly.  I was scared at first until I discovered that Moses was not chasing off an intruder but was instead crying out in prayer to his Father.  Moses is a very strong Christian and a powerful prayer warrior.  Moses doesn’t mess around when he prays, his prayers are passionate and intense!  He prays with authority and confidence and fully understands God’s power at work in him.  How cool is God’s provision for us here?!  Here is Moses who is hired and trained to protect us physically, but God has him here as a watchman to protect us and intercede for us spiritually.  As I lay awake in bed listening to Moses pray, I hear him crying out to the Father, praising Him for who He is and praying for us here.  Moses has taken time to get to know all of our names and our personal interests.  As he prayed, he prayed for each one of us by name as he walked around the perimeter of our little compound.  This went on for over an hour and he was still praying when I drifted back off to sleep. It is comforting to know that God has placed this mighty prayer warrior here with us.  I am continually amazed at how God provides for us here no matter what our needs are through the most unlikely people.  I firmly believe He does this to show us just how good He is and how much He loves us!
