It takes a lot of man power to pull off a camp this involved! We had tons of staff & trainers who have literally worked for months to get this crew here. Then we had an incredible serve team made up of World Race alumni. Each year alumni look forward to coming back to camp to help serve, and it’s incredible to see how God has transformed them since we last saw them at their own training camp a year ago. At this camp, I had the privilege of working specifically with the June squad. There are 51 of them and they make up the “O Squad” as we continue down the alphabet. I got extremely close to them this week and it was hard to see them go. In just 2 short weeks they’ll be embarking on their journey around the world.
Jonathan Helser and his band led us in worship. If you’ve never heard of them, you should look them up! These guys are anointed worship leaders and we had a blast worshipping together! God did so much this week – lives were forever changed!! It seems impossible to give you a complete picture of what all happened this past week in a blog. So perhaps I’ll give you some snipets here, some direct quotes from some of the Racers.
I’m trying to give up control of my own life. It’s a process.
God whispered to my heart that He’s got this. He’s taking care of me. He calmed my soul.
Anticipation. Worship. Redemption. The Holy Spirit. Truth. Tears. UNITIY. Joy. Peace. Canoeing. Swimming. Rock Diving. Fire Biscuits. BEST. DAY. EVER.. Team Building. Love. O Squad. Jesus. That doesn’t even cover it. Look out world. Here we come.
My favorite part has been hearing the Lord speak to my heart about how I am His daughter.
Abandoning “religion,” our “rights” and the “right to be right,” and leaving at the door all of our expectations of what this journey will look like and be; surrendering the entire process and journey to what God has planned for us and not what we originally planned.
So even in the midst of adversity and sometimes pain we know that deep within our hearts He cares for us and LOVES us deeply. We are worthy of the great things He has in store for us. We are meant to go on the adventure He has called us to.
You haven’t truly worshipped until you… Find yourself in a place before God that you really don’t want to walk away from…ever.
I was praying and asking God to set me free, and He spoke to me “Stop asking and be free.” I realized that I have a choice. A choice to be free or oppressed. A choice to sin or live in the light. A choice to speak life or to speak death. God gave me the choice because He loves me.
