I’m sitting here writing this after some of the best days of my life. During the past 2 weeks, I had the amazing opportunity of hosting my parents in Kenya and taking them to see all the sites at my “home” here. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed every moment of just being together. While they were here we toured the Kibera Slum where we live, visiting 3 schools and an orphanage we sponsor. We spent time with and shared meals with several of our Kenyan friends and neighbors. The Kenyans were so excited to have Mom and Dad visit, and each wanted their own time with these new visitors. They of course welcomed and showed the best hospitality and warm friendship to Mom and Dad. We also visited New Life Home where little Logan and 45 other orphans live. We shopped at several open air markets run by the Masai people for fun souvenirs. We spent an afternoon experiencing the city life in downtown Nairobi.
We went on a 3 day safari out into the Masai Mara, seeing countless animals and Masai villages in their natural habitat of the African bush. We took a day trip up into the highlands of Kenya to visit an area called Kijabe. As you can see we were very busy seeing all the sites. I can’t explain how satisfying it was for me to get to share life in Kenya with my parents. They were able to experience many different things here and see the things that the Lord is doing here. I can share stories and pictures, but when they are physically here, it brings a whole new perspective. I am thrilled that they were able to be here and see my heart for the Kenyan people. I thank God everyday for my parents! They are so special to me and we have a special bond. My favorite part about their entire time in Kenya was just being with them!
