Hello
everyone!
I just wanted to send out an update to remind you that I’ll be leaving for Swaziland
soon.  It’s 1:00am as I sit here typing this and in a few short hours, my
bag must be packed and I’ll be heading to the airport to meet my 18 wonderful
high school students.  They’ll step off the plane with that “deer in the
headlights” look on their face and we’ll be able to spot them from a mile
away!  🙂  I can’t wait to meet my team and start this incredible
journey with them!  There are 18 of them and 2 co-leaders that are leading
alongside me…I’m thrilled about this team God has put together!

Tomorrow training camp will start here in GA.  This will last until we
step on the plane on June 19th (Thursday).  We’ll then sit on a
piece of flying metal for approximately 20 hours and enjoy our non-stop flight
from Atlanta to South Africa. (hopefully there will
be some good movies showing J)  Upon arriving in South Africa, we will be driven into Swaziland.
The drive into Swaziland
will take anywhere from 5-12 hours….pray for 5…better yet pray for a miracle
and 3 hours, ha.  I’m not sure what day it will be when we finally make it
to where we’re staying in Swaziland.
But I would assume we should be there by the 21st or so.  Our
house is near the city of Ezulwini which is
located 15 minutes outside of Mbabane,
the capital city.

The place
we’ll be going to is fairly new for AIM missionaries.  Because of this, we
do not currently have a host pastor to work with.  I’m praying that we
will be able to build a relationship like this while we’re there.  We also
will not have someone handing us a ministry schedule when we get there.
This is an incredible opportunity for us to be stretched and completely listen
to the Lord as He guides us.  From what I hear, there are ministry
opportunities abounding in this area…these include AIDS hospitals, orphanages,
care points, schools, market place ministry, and I’m sure many many more.
We’re all so excited to jump in and see what God has planned out for us!

As you’re
praying for us, please pray specifically for:

-smooth
stress-free travel for the 21 of us

-team unity
and bonding starting right away at training camp

-great health

-open doors
and favor regarding the ministries we’ll be involved in

-that above
all we will learn how to better love God and His people in all we do

This is the
website for our team blog:  http://08sw0614amb1.myadventures.org
We are required to update this twice a week, so it is definitely the best way
to keep in touch with us.  Before we fly, I will try to get a team picture
posted on this blog site so you can know who you’re praying for.

I will have
limited access to internet throughout the trip.  I will return from Swaziland
on July 15th.  Feel free to email me during this time, I’d love
to hear from you.  Just offer grace if/when I’m not able to promptly
respond to all emails.  🙂

Thanks for all your prayers and support!!  I can’t wait to share with you
incredible stories of what we experienced God doing in our midst in Swaziland.

Blessings,
Kayla
